I came across this very good tip from a poster to a Louisiana newspaper on how to research nursing homes.
The advice is to go to
http:medicare.gov .
Put in your zip code.
We should certainly do as much due diligence as possible because a lot can go wrong, as we are too painfully aware of.
The poster also suggests cameras need to be placed in all nursing home rooms.
That's so older people can be watched 24 hours per day in order to prevent abuse.
I disagree with this mainly because I think everyone deserves some privacy.
But more importantly, there are no guarantees anyone will actually be vigilantly watching the screens.
I don't think that will improve conditions.
